Man Wanted for Aggravated Assault Shooting in Newark

Police in Newark are reporting that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Mr. Ronald Robinson, 54, on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in connection with a shooting that occurred on Sunday, February 23, 2020.

Police say shortly before 5:30 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Hawthorne Avenue on a Shot Spotter notification. Responding officers observed evidence of a shooting, but no victim was located or reported as shot.

Detectives investigating this incident developed sufficient evidence to identify Ronald Robinson as a suspect in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

While police are actively searching for Robinson, they seek the public’s help in quickly locating him as part of this investigation.

Robinson is described as 5’9” tall and 200 lbs. He has a medium brown complexion, black hair and brown eyes.
