Authorities in Passaic County are investigating a shooting that left a Paterson man injured Thursday night.

According to information released by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, officers from the Paterson Police Department were dispatched at approximately 8:26 p.m. on March 5, to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center after receiving reports of a gunshot victim seeking treatment.
When police arrived, they encountered a 40-year-old Paterson resident suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Investigators later determined that the shooting occurred in the area of Broadway and Church Street.
Officials said the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, and no additional details about a suspect or motive have been released at this time.
