Police in Trenton are investigating the motive behind a shooting that severely injured a male victim Sunday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Ingram Avenue and New Willow Street for a person shot around 2:10 a.m.

Responding cops found an unconscious male suffering bullet wounds at that location. He was rushed to Capital Health Medical Center for treatment and listed in critical condition.

In a second and possibly unrelated shooting incident, Trenton officers responded to reports of shots fired near the intersection of Perry and North Montgomery streets shortly before 2 a.m.
