Man Sought for Questioning After Weekend Shooting in Newark

Police in Newark are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a man wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in the city’s West Ward.

 

According to information released by Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., authorities are looking to question 45-year-old Roberto Horace of Newark in relation to the July 12, 2025, incident.

 

At approximately 1:25 a.m., police responded to reports of shots fired in the 60 block of Stuyvesant Avenue, between Abinger Place and South Orange Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers secured the area and located a shell casing and a bullet near an apartment building. 

 

No injuries were reported.
