Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect wanted for a shooting that happened in Newark on Monday morning.
According to Director Ambrose, just before 9:40 a.m. today, police responded to West Kinney Street near Washington Street on a call of a person shot.
Director Ambrose said upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering bullet wounds.
EMS transported the victim to University Hospital, where he is reportedly in stable condition.
This incident is under investigation as a targeted incident.
Detectives are pursuing an active lead, Director Ambrose said.
