An apparent violent armed robbery, turned into a shooting of a male victim happened in the city's South Ward now has police in Newark investigating.
There is an active search for the suspect who conducted a late night armed robbery in the area of Bergen Street and Nye Avenue where a man inside a food truck was shot during the incident.
Reports of shots fired sent police to the scene at around 11:30 p.m. where arriving officers located the victim shot at that location.
EMS transported the victim to University Hospital where he suffered a non-life threatening leg injury.
There has been no arrest immediately reported.
