A man found shot in a Newark West Ward neighborhood has police investigating.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that ran out in the vicinity of South Orange and West End avenues at around 6:10 p.m. where they found a man suffering gunshot wounds at that location.
EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital suffering serious injuries.
Police set up a crime scene where they detoured traffic on South Orange Avenue while they searched for evidence to support a motive.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
