A shooting that left a man critically injured in Paterson overnight has police investigating.
Authorities responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the area of East 23rd Street and 12th Avenue shortly before midnight where arriving police units found the male victim shot multiple times according to preliminary reports from the scene.
EMS rushed the victim to St. Joseph's Hospital where he was listed in critical condition reports said.
Officers canvassing the scene evidence found over a half dozen shell casings.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
There were no arrests reported.
