A man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds was dropped off at a Newark hospital late Sunday night, prompting an investigation into where the shooting occurred.
Newark Police were notified after the severely wounded victim arrived at the University hospital’s emergency department suffering from multiple bullet wounds.
During the investigation, detectives learned that Irvington Police had established a crime scene in the 100 block of Maple Avenue, where authorities believe the victim was shot by an armed suspect.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting and what led up to the incident remain unclear.
The shooting remains under an active and ongoing investigation. No additional details were immediately released.
