Gunfire rang out in the area of Mulberry Street and Centre Street near NJPAC in the city's downtown shortly before 5 p.m. striking a male victim to the face and is reportedly in "poor" condition.
The man was taken to University Hospital a short time ago.
A police horse unit reportedly chased down the suspect, apprehending him at gunpoint.
An investigation is underway.
