A man was shot during an incident aboard a New Jersey Transit bus in Newark late Saturday morning, according to a statement released by Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda.
Authorities responded to the area of Bergen Street and Madison Avenue at approximately 11:30 a.m. on May 24, 2025, after receiving reports of a shooting.
Investigators determined that both the victim and the suspect were passengers on the NJ Transit bus when the shooting occurred.
The victim was transported to University Hospital, where he is being treated for a non-life-threatening injury.
He is currently in stable condition.
The incident remains under investigation by Newark Police.
