Man Shot Dead on Street in Camden

Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson are investigating a homicide that occurred on a street in Camden on Friday.

According to a statement released by authorities, Camden County Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation near the 3100 block of Westfield Avenue in Camden at approximately 10:42 a.m.

Authorities said when officers arrived, they located the victim, Mr. Julio Sanchez-Moncada, 32, of Camden, in the 3100 block of Merriel Avenue suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Medical personnel pronounced Moncada dead at the scene at approximately 11:02 a.m. authorities said.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

There were there were no arrests made at this time.
