Police in Newark are on the search for the suspect that fired several round of gunfire at a vehicle that was reportedly owned by his ex-girlfriend.
According to reports, the drama unfolded at around 10:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Wainwright Street near Chancellor Avenue when police were called to the scene on reports of shots fired at that location.
Responding units arrived to find a vehicle struck several times by gunfire according to reports.
Cops located the female owner who reported to them that a male suspect (who she identified as her ex-boyfriend) pulled a gun and began to shoot at the vehicle a short time before authorities arrived to the scene.
The woman was not injured in the shooting but bullet holes were visible on the driver's side door and another hole was located near the front bumper.
The suspect then fled the scene in a dark purple colored Mitsubishi with several other occupants inside according to reports.
Police towed the woman's car for the investigation.
