There were severe injuries reported for a male shot in a housing complex in Newark's Central Ward overnight.
According to preliminary reports, gunfire rang out at the Pilgrim Village located in the 100 block of Avon Avenue, at approximately 11:45 p.m., sending police to the scene where officers found the victim suffering gunshot wounds.
EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital bleeding heavily from according to reports.
Police set up a crime scene where they investigated the motive for the shooting.
The incident remains under investigation.
