Police in Newark are investigating a pedestrian strike that seriously injured a man in Newark's North Ward Friday morning.
According to police, at approximately 1:20 a.m., police were called to the intersection of Clifton and Park avenues to investigate reports of an injured person.
Upon arrival, police found the victim bleeding from his head after a car struck him at that location.
Police say The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment while police questioned the driver who stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
