Man Robs Wells Fargo Bank in Downtown Newark

Newark Police seeks the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a bank robbery that occurred on this afternoon.

Police say at approximately 12:30 p.m., a man walked into the Wells Fargo Bank located at 765 Broad Street and handed the teller a note.

Police say the suspect left the bank after the female teller handed him an undetermined amount of cash then fled south on Broad Street toward West Market Street.

Police say the suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6’2” tall and wore light blue jeans, a blue vest and a red hoodie.

While police are actively searching for this suspect, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from Newark streets.
