Emergency responders pronounced a man dead at the scene after police said he drove around a barricade and onto live wires Thursday morning.
Police responded to the area of Summit Avenue and Route 208 just before 9 a.m. for a report of a car fire.
Upon arrival, officers found a fully a engulfed vehicle near a live power line.
Police say they are trying to determine why the man ignored the barricades and where exactly was he en route to.
The incident is currently under investigation.
