Man Injures Fingers in Linden Industrial Accident

Police responded to the American Mika Corp., located at 1015 Pennsylvania Avenue, sometime around 3:17 p.m. today on a report of a man with a possible amputated finger.

According to police, the 69 year-old Whiting man was working with a table saw when his right thumb and index finger were struck with the saw. His index finger was nearly severed while his thumb was severely injured, according to initial reports.

The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics before he was transported to University Hospital in Newark for additional treatment.

The incident is still under investigation.
