Police in Newark are investigating a shooting that left one person injured overnight.
Gunfire erupted in the 100 block of Badger Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. sending several police units to the South Ward community where they located a male victim struck by gunfire.
EMS transported the victim to University Hospital where he suffered a non-life threatening graze wound according to reports.
Police searched the area and found several shell casings at that location, but there were no reports of arrests.
Police also responded to several other reports of shots fired that rang out around the city overnight including the 30's block of Gladstone Ave. at around 3 a.m. and the 30's block of May Street shortly before 4 a.m.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
