One person suffering serious injuries after being shot in a section of Newark's Central Ward on Thursday night.
According to police, at around 9:40 p.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired near 72 Hayes Street.
Units arrived at the scene and found a male victim -around 30-years-old- suffering bullet wounds at that location.
Police say the victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment while police searched the area for additional victims and a possible suspect.
There were no other injuries reported and the investigation remains active and ongoing.
