There were non-life threatening injuries reported for the victim of a gunshot wound who authorities found in a neighborhood in the city's South Ward.
Police were called to the vicinity of 224 Wainwright Street at around 7:25 p.m. after they received reports of shots fired at that location.
Upon their arrival police found a male victim suffering a gunshot injury to the leg according to authorities. Police believe that the suspect arrived in the area armed with a gun and fired in the direction of the victim before running from the scene.
EMS transported the victim to the hospital where doctors treated the injury.
The motive for the attack remains under investigation.
