Police in Newark are investigating a shooting that injured a person during the overnight hours in the city.
The call came in to 911 around 11:50 p.m. for a report of shots fired to the area of 50 North Munn Avenue.
On arrival, police located a male gunshot victim at that location, according to police.
The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment and is reportedly in stable condition.
Police say officers canvassing the scene found shell casings and other evidence, but no suspects were located.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
