Police in Irvington are on the search for a suspect wanted for a shooting that injured a man on a street in the township earlier this morning.
According to police, at approximately 11:44 a.m., police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 108 Lincoln Place.
Upon arrival, police found the victim suffering a bullet wound in his stomach at that location.
Police say the victim was transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment while officers taped off the area and conducted the investigation.
The victim is in critical condition and required immediate surgery.
The motive for the shooting has not been determined.
