An early morning shooting in Jersey City struck a man and sent him to the hospital according to authorities.
Multiple rounds of gunfire erupted in the 60's block Wade Street sending police to the scene shortly before 1 a.m.
Police officers canvassing the scene found a male victim suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg according to reports.
The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries reports said.
Authorities set up a crime scene in the area where they collected several shell casings and other evidence.
There were no reports of arrests made.
The motive for the shooting has not been released.
