A victim injured by gunfire who was found in Irvington has authorities investigating.
The male victim was reportedly located in the 200 block of Columbia Avenue suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg at around 12:30 a.m. according to reports.
He was transported to University Hospital where he was treated for the injury.
An investigation into the shooting had the victim report to police that the shooting occurred in the area of South Orange Avenue and Columbia Avenue shortly before cops found him.
Newark Police were notified and requested to check for a crime scene on South Orange Avenue but it is not immediately known if anything was every found.
The incident remains under investigation.
