The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into a shooting that injured a person in Garfield late Saturday night.
Gunfire rang out near 7 Jewell Street around 11:50 p.m., sending several officers to the scene to investigate.
Upon arrival, police found a male victim suffering a bullet wound in his back near the Wawa and Wing Stop stores.
The unidentified victim was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center in serious condition.
Police searched the area for other potential victims, but no other gunshot victims were found.
The motive for the shooting has not been determined, and the suspect is at large.
