Police reported non-fatal injuries for the victim of a shooting that occurred this evening in Newark’s South Ward.
Authorities say officers responded to 219 Chadwick Avenue to investigate reports of an injured person around 7:05 p.m.
Upon arrival, police found a male victim suffering a bullet wound in his leg.
Police say the victim pointed officers in the direction of 160 Seymour Avenue, where a gunman fired shots in the area before fleeing the scene on foot.
A stray bullet entered a home through its window, but no one inside was hurt.
The suspect remains at-large.
