Emergency crews today recovered the body of a dead man found inside a tanker trailer in Linden.
According to police, Linden Police and Fire Units responded to 4200 Tremley Point Road shortly after 2 p.m. for a report of an unconscious man inside of a tanker trailer.
Members of the Linden Fire Department, with assistance from Union County Hazmat and the Elizabeth Fire Department, performed a confined space rescue and were able to reach the man, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the man’s death remains under investigation by the Linden Police Detective Bureau and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
