Police are checking several neighborhoods in Newark’s South Ward after a gunshot victim sought help at police headquarters this afternoon.
Just before 4:10 p.m., a male victim bleeding from his chest stumbled into the precinct.
The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment while officers taped off the headquarters then redefined their search to the area of Clinton Avenue and West Bigelow.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
No suspect has been identified at this time.
