An early afternoon shooting that sent a man to the hospital in Newark has police investigating.
Officials at the St. Michael's Hospital contacted police when the victim entered the emergency department shortly before 3:30 pm suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the lower arm.
According to reports, the victim told officers that he obtained the injury in the 30's block of Rowland Street.
Police searched the area and located evidence that a shooting occurred at that location.
There were no suspects arrested at this time.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
