Man Driving on Street in Paterson Struck by Gunfire

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that at approximately 5:15 a.m. today, Paterson Police were advised that a 41-year-old male Paterson resident arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.

Police said based on the initial investigation, it was determined that the victim was traveling in a motor vehicle in the area of Park Avenue and Summer Street when an unknown individual began to shoot toward the victim’s motor vehicle.

A potential crime scene was subsequently located in that area.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
