Man Dies in Moonachie Mobile Home Fire; Neighbor Injured

A mobile home fire claimed the life of a man Monday afternoon, according to Deputy Chief Jeff Angermeyer of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

 

First responders rushed to West Sixth Street around 4:45 p.m., where Moonachie police and firefighters discovered a man inside the burning home. 

 

He was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the blaze, Angermeyer said.

Detectives and arson investigators from the Prosecutor’s Office joined local authorities at the site as the investigation into the cause of the fire continues.
 

In a statement posted Tuesday on Facebook, the Moonachie First Aid and Rescue Squad said they also treated a resident from a neighboring trailer, who was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center for further care.

 

Officials have not yet released the identity of the victim.
