Newark Police officials are reporting the arrest of Mr. Luis Santiago, 26, of Newark, connected with an auto burglary that occurred on Wednesday.
Police said at approximately 3 a.m., a concerned citizen reported hearing shattered glass followed by a man climbing out of the front passenger winder of a vehicle parked in the area of Summer Avenue and Taylor Street.
According to police, Newark Officers located Santiago crouched between a car in the area.
Police said he was also bleeding from a cut on his hand and was found in possession of a folding knife with a blunt ball-pointed end.
Santiago was immediately arrested. He faces charges of burglary, possession of burglary tools and criminal mischief, according to police.
