Police officials in Newark are investigating a shooting that sent a male to the hospital in Newark on Monday afternoon.
According to a brief statement released by police, the incident occurred at 1:37 p.m. when gunfire rang out in the in 400-block of Hunterdon Street.
Officials say Newark Police officers arrived at the scene and found the victim suffering a gunshot wound.
EMS transported the male to University Hospital where officials say he is listed in stable condition.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
