One person suffered gunshot injuries at the scene of a shooting in a section of Newark's Central Ward on Tuesday night.
It happened around 9:35 p.m. just outside the Nat Turner Park in the 50's block of New Fairview Avenue.
A ShotSpotter device alerted police about a dozen rounds of gunfire and when police arrived, an off-duty officer pointed units in the direction of the injured male.
The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment and is reportedly in stable condition.
