Police in Newark are investigating a shooting with injuries in the city’s Central Ward this evening.
According to police, at approximately 7:30 p.m., an armed suspect fired multiple rounds in the direction of a male near 76 Littleton Avenue.
At least one of the bullets struck the victim while he fled the location and attempted to take cover.
The suspect continued to fire rounds that also struck property as far away as the 300 block of Littleton Avenue. This is where officers found the victim according to reports.
No other injuries were reported and the suspect fled the scene.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
