Authorities in Union County are investigating a shooting that injured a male in Elizabeth Monday night.
According to police, at approximately 9:40 p.m., gunfire rang out in the area of 430 Jefferson Avenue, sending police to the scene to investigate.
When officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering gunshot wounds at that location.
Police say the victim was transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation and no arrests reported.
