EMS transported a male to University Hospital for treatment after gunfire rang out in a section of Newark’s West Ward this afternoon, striking the victim.
Police responded to shots fired reports that rang out in the area 121 Isabella Avenue around 4:50 p.m.
Officers arrived and found the victim struck by bullets. A home and vehicle were damaged during the shooting incident, according to police.
Newark Police taped off the area and collected multiple shell casings while canvassing the scene for a possible suspect.
The suspect remains at large.
