Police officials are reporting a shooting that injured a male on the border of Newark-Irvington this afternoon.
According to police, gunfire rang out in the vicinity of 548 South 20th Street at approximately 3:55 p.m.
When officers from both municipalities arrived at the scene, they found an unidentified male suffering a bullet wound in his arm at that location.
EMS transported the victim to University Hospital for treatment of the none-life threatening injury.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
No arrests were made.
