Authorities in Newark are investigating a robbery that ended in a shooting downtown Sunday.
According to a preliminary investigation, at approximately 2:40 a.m., police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Broad Street near Murray Street to investigate reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers found an unidentified male suffering a bullet wound at that location.
Police learned that the victim was approached by an armed suspect who demanded personal possessions.
The suspect reportedly fired shots in the victim's direction before fleeing the scene.
Officials reported non-fatal injuries and the suspect remains at large.
