Police reported non-fatal injuries for a male victim struck by gunfire in Newark's North Ward on Wednesday night.
The incident happened around 8:10 p.m. near 104 2nd Avenue, where police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out.
Upon arrival, police found the victim suffering bullet wounds in his back at that location.
The unidentified victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment, police said.
The suspect fled the scene immediately after firing at the victim.
There were no other injuries reported.
