Multiple rounds on a ShotSpotter device had Paterson Police officers on the scene of a deadly shooting Monday night.
At approximately 9 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired near the intersection of Park Avenue and East 19th Street.
Several Police officers arrived and found about a dozen shell casings and a male victim struck by multiple rounds of bullets.
The injured was rushed to St. Joseph's Medical Center, where doctors pronounced him dead around midnight.
The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office has taken over the investigation and are on the search for the shooter.
No other injuries were reported.
