Police in Newark are looking into the motive behind a shooting that seriously injured a male in Newark on Tuesday night.
Gunfire rang out in the vicinity of 249 Avon Avenue near Farley Avenue around 8:47 p.m.
Officers arrived at the scene and secured the area after they located a male victim suffering a bullet wound in his leg at that location.
Police say the victim was rushed to University Hospital for treatment and remained in stable condition.
According to police, a dark blue Honda Accord -occupied by two suspects- was observed speeding away from the scene.
Police said two cars suffered damage after stray bullets struck the vehicles during the incident.
