There were non-life-threatening injuries reported for male found shot in a section of Newark Friday night.
According to police, gunfire erupted in the vicinity of 101 7th Avenue at approximately 10:44 p.m.
When police arrived at the scene, they began to canvass the area for victims were they found a male in the rear of a building suffering a bullet wound in his leg.
Police say the conscious and alert victim was transported to University Hospital in stable condition.
Detectives searching the area found shell casings, but no other victims were found, according to police.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
