Offcials in Newark are investigating a shooting that sent a male to the hospital late Friday night.
According to police, several rounds of gunfire rang out in the single-digit block of Finlay Place just before 10:15 p.m. sending officers to the scene to investigate.
Units arrived and found the unidentified victim suffering a bullet wound in his leg at that location.
Police say the victim was taken to University Hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.
While investgiating the Finley Place shooting, police say they received a ShotSpotter activation indicating gunfire in the 20's block of Telford Street.
There were no victims found on Telford Street and the motive for both shootings are under investigation.
