Male Injured in Newark North Ward Shooting

Police in Newark are investigating a shooting that left one person injured in the city’s North Ward on Sunday afternoon.

According to reports, officers responded to the area of Grafton Avenue around 2 p.m. following multiple calls of shots fired. 

At the scene, they discovered an unidentified male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment. His injuries were not reported to be life-threatening.

Detectives canvassed the area for additional victims and evidence but found no other injuries. 

As of Sunday evening, no arrests had been announced, and the investigation remains active.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Newark Police Department.
