Newark authorities are looking into the motive for a shooting that occurred this afternoon at a location in the city.
According to police, the shooting happened at 640 South 10th Street where gunfire rang out just before 3:10 p.m.
Police arrived and found the victim in the vicinity of South 10th Street and Springfield Avenue according to reports.
EMS transported the unidentified male to University Hospital for treatment.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
