Police in New Brunswick investigates a shooting that left a male victim injured in a section of the city on Tuesday night.

According to police, at approximately 8:30 p.m, units responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 6 Van Dyke Avenue.

Upon arrival, police found the unidentified victim suffering a bullet wound in his leg.

Police on the scene requested EMS on a rush after the victim began to bleed heavily, according to reports.

Police say the victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and listed in serious but stable condition.

The suspect fled the scene and remains at-large.
