Police closed down a portion of Clinton Avenue to allow detectives to investigate a shots-fired incident that connected on a male in Newark late this afternoon.
It happened in the 300 block of Clinton Avenue where a ShotSpotter activated after indicating about six rounds of gunfire just before 6:15 pm
Police arrived at that scene and found an unidentified male suffering a bullet wound in his arm according to reports.
The victim was transported to University Hospital in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
There were no other injuries reported.
