Newark Police officials are on the search for the suspects who fired shots in the direction of a male, striking him at a location in the city's South Ward.
According to police, at around 4 a.m., a male suffering a bullet wound arrived at the police headquarters located on Clinton Avenue and reported being shot on Avon Avenue near Bergen Street.
Police officers canvassed the scene and found shell casings in the vicinity of 176 Avon Avenue according to reports.
The victim was transported to University Hospital where officials say he suffered a non-life threatening arm injury.
Authorities have not released a motive for the attack at this time.
